The Life of the Teacher in the International Programme Assessment
By George P. Lumayag
The teacher’s life has the role of planning in the field of instructions. The undying role of the teacher is to plan his daily lesson exemplar which is also a part of the curriculum implementation. Of course the teacher must be guided with the established curriculum. But he has also the role of integrating the new design which is applicable to the present trend of society for the good of the people and of the country in a broader sense.
The teacher’s life has the great concern of implementing what has been planned. This is the very basic of the teaching and learning process. During the discussion proper, the teacher shall have to manage a good learning atmosphere hoping for the students to accomplish good outputs from the assigned tasks in a particular session. Both the teacher and the students are the doers of the curriculum implementations. And the standard evaluation or the international programme assessment for students must be properly implemented. It should be bias free. When it comes to any of the international standard assessments in the implementation of the curriculum, it should be proper that only schools that meet the standard contents should be included as respondent schools. How do students answer the questions if they haven’t studied yet the contents? And why do others blame teachers for the least performances of students? If the teaching of the standard contents hasn’t been formally facilitated inside the classroom, do not expect good results. Why don’t you provide first to the schools with the standard ebooks to be used by teachers on their teaching instructions prior to the international standard assessment?
The teacher’s life has the greatest part of evaluating the curriculum. It is the teacher who knows the performances of students. It is the teacher who knows the scope of students’ acquired knowledge. It is the teacher who knows the established curriculum in the classroom or school. The teacher's evaluation humbly states that the contents of our curriculum are perhaps a step behind and or quite advanced from the established standard curriculum from other countries.
